Established in Portland, Oregon in 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company began as a small machine store hiring just four individuals. Overall sales for that year totaled sixty thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other components. Within 5 years of operation, the business had stretched to forty employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. Nowadays, Cascade is among the leading global manufacturers in the material handling business.

Production and design of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive quest of better business possibilities. Over the past sixty years, the material handling business has developed into a very sophisticated field and Cascade has proudly played a part in this progress. Cascade presently continues to develop as the premier provider of lift truck attachments and numerous related products. In the nineteen fifties, Cascade began designing, manufacturing and advertising hydraulic accessories. Manufacturing was completed in the year 1956 on a new facility in order to house all of the plant and office operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's present center of operations. Following fifteen years of business, total workers reached a hundred and eighty workers and sales had reached nearly $2,300,000.

In the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio a second manufacturing plant was built. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry as the company recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.

In the year 1964, the company changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Afterward in 1965, the business went public with an initial offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Since then the business has expanded its manufacturing services throughout the continental US to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already existing plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade merchandise are fabricated internationally thanks to many subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new facility was accomplished in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is built to be the essential customer support centre.
